Getting started

Prior to the apprenticeship a gateway service will be delivered to gauge suitability and training needs; assisting in establishing candidate compatibility and increasing successfully completed apprenticeships. The tools used will include comprehensive screening, testing and job matching.

Support services will be tailored to meet individual requirements. Apprentices will be linked to jobs through a process that determines how their personal attributes impact job satisfaction and ability to pursue a range of career options.

The MAS Experience provides businesses with access to a range of services and referral pathways including:

Literacy & numeracy assessment

The Online LLN Indicator Tool is an evaluation test that has been developed in line with the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF). The purpose of the tool is to provide an indication of the level of a learner across the 5 core skills. It will be used to assist in the identification of LLN issues.

Apprenticeship Commitment Assessment

The Apprenticeship Commitment Assessment on-line tool establishes a person’s genuine desire to complete an apprenticeship efficiently. The outcomes of the assessment determine the appropriate interventions to support the client to become ready to undertake an apprenticeship or assist with a non-apprenticeship pathway. Contact MAS National for more information on 1300 MAS NAT (627 628).

Industry advice

CareerMe provides information on hundreds of career pathways. Each pathway has details of the role and training needed irrespective of whether it is an Apprenticeship. CareerMe is an App currently available on Apple and due for release on Android early 2015.
