Updated information regarding training delivered by Training Prospects in S.A
Last week MAS Experience informed all employers, apprentices and trainees of an important update regarding training delivered by Training Prospects in South Australia.
On Monday 5th March, Training Prospects made an announcement via their website advising that as a result of a strategic review, they will manage a staged exit from training delivery and assessment across a number of vocational areas including: Plumbing, Engineering, Cabinet Making, Warehousing and Electrotechnology, between now and 30 June 2018.
What qualifications have been affected?
The following qualifications at this stage will be affected:
CPC32413 Certificate III in Plumbing
CPC32612 Certificate III in Roof Plumbing
CPC40911 Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services
CPC40912 Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services
UEE20111 Certificate II in Split Air-Conditioning
UEE30811 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
What options are available?
Below are the options that are available to you, depending on your circumstance. If however you have already completed an RTO Transfer form, no further action is required. If you have any questions regarding these options please ring the State Training Authority (STA) Information Service on 1800 673 097.
You have completed the ‘off job training’ and Training Prospects has issued a parchment (certificate) however you have yet to complete the ‘on job training’ component of the training contract.
What you can do – You and your employer do not need to do anything. You can continue the ‘on job training’ and when completed submit a completion application along with the parchment (certificate) issued by Training Prospects to the STA for assessment. Completion application forms are available at www.skills.sa.gov.au/apprenticeforms
You have not completed the ‘off job training’ component.
What you can do – You will be required to select another RTO so you can recommence your ‘off job training’. An RTO Transfer form will need to be completed. To recommence training with a new RTO a copy of your Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be required, which Training Prospects are required to send to you. Both you and your employer can choose a RTO that best suits your training needs.
A list of RTOs that deliver the qualification is available at www.myskills.gov.au, where you can search by qualification name and delivery location. The following RTOs may also be able to offer government subsidised training, subject to eligibility requirements. You have completed both the ‘off job training’ and the ‘on job training’ and both you and your employer agree you have consistently demonstrated competency in all tasks in the workplace.
