New job? No stress!

Settling into a new job

Settling into a new job can be a stressful time. Here are a few points to consider:

Meeting the bosses expectations

Put yourself in the bosses shoes, what do you think it takes to be a ‘good employee’? Now strive to be just that.

Always looking to be the best you can be will mean that more opportunities arise for you to develop yourself and your skills. It’s time to do yourself proud.

Set yourself up for success

Ensure you’ve set yourself up for success. Before starting, talk with your boss about what they expect from you, and what success looks like.

If you’re unsure, ask!

No matter how qualified you are, starting a new job requires a lot of learning.

Fitting in with the team, learning job-specific tasks and becoming proficient in your role can be challenging. The good thing is every one of your team mates once started there too!

If you’re not sure about how to do something, ask someone. It’s a good idea to try think of a solution then check it with a team mate or your supervisor. Once you’ve got an answer, remember it for the next time that situation occurs.
